This summer at the GWSR is looking legendary – kids ride for just a quid!
We know times are tough and the purse strings are tight, so we're making it easier for families to get out and enjoy themselves on the rails. From 18 July through 31st August, little ones (5-15 yrs, under 5 free) can hop aboard for only £1. Come and immerse yourself in our railway's heritage, make brilliant memories with the kids, and have a laugh – your wallet will thank you!
You can book a Day Rover ticket up to a day in advance online, letting you hop on and off as you please, with kids still travelling for just £1. Or better yet, why not buy in person at one of our four manned ticket offices at Cheltenham, Winchcombe, Toddington or Broadway? This lets you make any number of journeys on the day, with kids still travelling for only £1.

Trainmaster Kids' Playtime
27th July – 9th August 2026 (Tim Mitchell Building, Winchcombe Station)
Your train ticket includes unlimited steam train travel and free entry to hands-on railway-themed fun. Think train sets, tracks, tunnels, and interactive activities – kids' imaginations running wild for hours! Entry with a valid ticket to travel.

Teddy Bear Picnic Trains
Thursday 6th, 13th & 20th August
Bring your favourite cuddly friend for a magical steam-train journey through the Cotswolds. At Winchcombe, enjoy free children's craft activities, picnic spaces, and a trip to the Coffee Pot Café. With a Rover or Family Ticket, hop on and off as you please.
