Urgent Notice
Passenger safety — hot weather
Extreme temperatures are forecast over the coming days. Please read this notice before you travel.
Please plan your journey carefully and check the weather forecast before you travel. The heat can affect everyone differently — take extra care of children, babies, elderly passengers, and anyone with special needs or requirements.
Drink water
Drink plenty of water throughout your visit. Free water is available from our buffet car and station cafes. Don't wait until you feel thirsty.
Sun protection
Apply sun cream before you arrive and reapply it regularly. Wear a hat or head covering and avoid sitting in direct sunlight for long periods.
Look after each other
Keep a close eye on children, older passengers, and anyone who may be more vulnerable in the heat. Encourage everyone in your group to drink frequently.
If anyone feels unwell
Alert a member of our team immediately — whether you are on board the train or at one of our stations. If on a train please do not pull the emergency cord - instead talk to a member of our staff and they will arrange appropriate medical care and contact the emergency services if needed. Do not wait to seek help.
