‘Bricks, Bricks and More Bricks’ comes to the Gloucestershire
Warwickshire Steam Railway

Easter-themed activities too!

23 March 2026: The Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway is set to host a spectacular Bricks Weekend this Bank Holiday weekend (3-6 April), offering a fun family day out that combines heritage steam travel with hands-on creativity and inspiring brick-built displays.

Taking place at two of the railway’s stations – Toddington and Winchcombe, this exciting event promises a full day of imagination, engineering and fun for the young and young at heart.

Visitors can begin their adventure on board one of the railways heritage steam or diesel trains, starting their journey from Broadway or Cheltenham Racecourse and enjoying a scenic journey through the beautiful Cotswold countryside.

Winchcombe Station – Tim Mitchell Building (Platform 1)
Visitors can explore an impressive collection of brick-built displays created by talented model builders. From detailed locomotives, trains and railways to intricate buildings, landscapes and imaginative custom creations, the exhibition is set to inspire enthusiasts and families alike.

Toddington Station
At Toddington, the focus turns to hands-on creativity. Guests can get involved in the interactive brick-building zone, with plenty of bricks available to create everything from trains to fantasy worlds.

Families can also enjoy a range of Easter-themed activities, including Easter egg and hat making, colouring and face painting—making it the perfect seasonal day out for younger visitors.

Jack Boskett, the GWSR’s Head of Marketing commented: “The railway has run bricks events in the past and it is a delight to see it back again.  Everyone is familiar with the little plastic bricks that offer endless opportunities for creativity.  It’s amazing what you can build with them and I’m sure that this will prove an inspiration for budding ‘brickies’ of any age.  There really is something for everyone.”

This event is the latest of a lively programme of events taking place on the award-winning Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway this year – the full inspiring range can be found at www.gwsr.com.

Tickets and information on the bricks and more bricks can be found here:

Please note: there are very few car parking spaces at Winchcombe station.  There is unlimited FREE car parking at Cheltenham Racecourse station from where trains regularly depart, stopping at both Winchcombe and Toddington, while tickets allow unlimited travel on the railway on the day of issue.  There is a pay-and-display local-authority-run car park at Broadway station (EV charging available).  On busy days car parking at Toddington can quickly fill. Locations of stations can be found here.
