Fish and chips specials, "The Cheltenham Fryer"
article by: webmaster
Why not have a relaxing British Evening Out with a train ride
through the glorious Cotswold countryside whilst enjoying a
traditional fish & chip supper?
The Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway is running a special
evening steam train service between Toddington and Cheltenham Race
Course on the following Saturday Evenings during 2010:
- April 17th
- May 15th
- June 26th
- July 3rd
- July 24th
- August 7th
- August 21st
- September 4th
Seats on the Fish & Chips Specials must be booked in
advance. The last date for booking is the Monday before the train
departs. However please be aware that the trains are often full
several weeks before departure. Tickets cost £19 will be available
to book online (with a small booking fee) by clicking on the red
button below. If you wish to book tickets "offline" send a
cheque made payable to GWSR plc to Fish & Chips The
Railway Station, Toddington, Glos GL54 5DT and also include an
S.A.E for your tickets to be returned to you in.

The train will depart from Toddington Station at 7:00 pm for a
leisurely journey through a Cotswold evening. Your specially
prepared food will be served to you in heat retentive containers at
Cheltenham Race Course station where there will be time to visit
the original GWR station building and watch the steam engine "run
round" the train before the return journey to Toddington.
Arrival back at Toddington will be around 9.30pm. There will be
a Buffet Car on the train open throughout the evening selling a
wide range of drinks including our own Rail Ale, Track Cider, wines
and soft beverages. Passengers may not bring their own
refreshments onto these special trains.
We can also offer a charter service, running a fish and chip
train to your requirements. We can cater for a party of up to 170,
though can normally accomodate train hires for as few as 60
passengers, which can make an unusual evening out for your firm,
club or perhaps even a special party. Contact the fish and chip
organiser David Locke via enquiries@gwsr.com or the
booking office to talk about your plans
