The Fire Department looks after our small fleet of fire engines and carries out support fire fighting activities. Training includes First Aid, Incident Management and hose running and pumping from tanks and open water. The Fire Department will tackle any small lineside fires and will support the local Fire Brigade in any larger incidents. You may be asked to train as a First Responder for GW Ambulance. Uniforms are provided. But 'beware' the Fire Department tends to be asked to do all of the urgent, difficult or messy jobs that no other department is responsible for. Given that you will often need to rely on each other in often challenging situations you will need to be a confident team player.
