The Cornishman
article by: webmaster
The Cornishman is the house magazine of the GWR. It is published
quarterly, and circulated to all of our members. "The Cornishman"
was the daily through train from Wolverhampton to Penzance (via
Stratford, Toddington, Winchcombe and Cheltenham), and ran from
1952 to 1962.
The magazine, now expanded to 64 pages, contains news and views
from the various departments of the railway, and the supporting
groups. There are details of upcoming events, and a lively letters
page, 'Cotswold Views'. To get a flavour of the magazine, click here to view a sample contents page.
Contributions to the magazine are welcome from both members and
non-members. Copies of the magazine are available for non-members
to purchase, from the railway station at Toddington priced at
£2.80, or from our online
shop. Back-issues may be available - please "contact us" and
choose "Membership enquiry" for details.
