Website information
article by: webmaster
Like all other areas of the GWSR
operation, this website has been produced by, and is maintained by,
volunteers.
The site is designed for a minimum
screen resolution of 1024x768, and has been tested against the
latest versions of the Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, Opera
and Google Chrome browsers. If you are still using Internet
Explorer version 6 we would very strongly recommend that you
upgrade to a later version. If you have any problems viewing
any areas of this site, please let us know using the feedback form, and
we will attempt to correct the site accordingly.
The site has been designed and built
with standards compliance and accessibility in mind. For
the technically minded it has been built using the Umbraco content
management system which is built on the Microsoft .NET
Framework and uses Microsoft's SQL Server database. The content
management system allows for a more flexible and
dynamic approach to the whole site. Changes can now be made
in minutes rather than the hours some have taken in the past.
It also allows for departments to "own" their own sections of
the site. We also make use of a jQuery script called
prettyPhoto to display the photos on the site.
If you experience any accessibility
issues or issues in general with the site please contact the webmaster directly.
Your enquiries will be dealt with as soon as possible.
Some material on the site is only
available for download in Adobe PDF format. If you are unable to
read PDF files, you can download the Adobe Reader from this page.
Alternatively, we can supply most documentation in Microsoft Word
format on request. Such files will be checked for known viruses,
but GWSR cannot be held responsible for any viruses thus
transmitted.
If you have any material that you would
like us to consider for publication on the website, please let us
know. We may be contacted using the feedback form here.
